The SCI lab is based at London Metropolitan University but has several international and interdisciplinary collaborations.
Its main research focus is the role of serendipity in creativity and innovation. All the researchers associated with the lab are interested in embodied and enactive approaches to knowledge and discovery. The role of materials and design practices feature heavily in our research. Acknowledging the pivotal role of serendipity in creativity requires us to see creative thought in action.
The work coming out of the SCI lab is interdisciplinary drawing on the best minds in cognitive psychology, anthropology and philosophy to understand how creativity and innovation unfold in an uncertain world.
